Late Night with Seth Meyers: Ben Stiller / Rose Matafeo / Brooke Colucci (2022)
Tale
Mark leads a team of office workers whose memories are surgically divided between work and personal lives. When a mysterious colleague shows up outside of work, he embarks on a journey to uncover the truth about his job. The computer terminals used by the Macro Data Development Team have no “escape”; the key is that this is normal for the Data General Dasher D2 series terminals, which seem to have.
Ben Stiller himself directed it
Edit* Episode 9 S1 is one of the best TV episodes I’ve seen in a series that still tells a story, but shines much brighter. And for that, it deserves awards and recognition. Only two episodes were released.
It’s very short for now, and I’ll give a full review at the end of the series
I’m going to spoil it all because I went in blind before I even looked at the plot. As for actors/directors, Stiller is still one of the few unique Hollyweird filmmakers who can put together a great cast on a decent budget. This series is unlike any other series on the air and has great potential to be considered one of the greatest unique dark comedy series of all time.
It’s a universe unto itself
I can’t wait for the world to rise. Just give this one a chance, as long as it’s not politically or real-world influenced. And I still love it.
